Claire has been working in veterinary practice for nearly thirty years. She qualified as a Veterinary Nurse in 1995 and has worked in a number of practices throughout the Nottingham and Derbyshire area picking up good ideas for best practice along the way. She started at Derwent Valley Vets on day one in June 2016.

Claire, her husband and her two daughters share a house with 2 German Shepherds “Kia and Leski”, “Teddy”, a Schipperke and ‘Tilly’ and ‘Harper’ the Australian Shepherds. She is a Kennel Club registered breeder of German Shepherds and her own line of dogs have been very successful in the show ring. She is passionate about responsible breeding and the person to ask about anything to do with health testing prior to getting bitches into pup. As well as showing her German Shepherds Claire also shows Teddy, both in the UK and on the continent. Teddy has, at the very young age of a year, obtained the Kennel Club status of champion in the UK and Ireland.

In 2020, Claire did us the great honour of agreeing to become our Practice Manager. Her organisational skill and ability to get any task done meant she is perfect for the role.  She has continued to broaden her knowledge in her new role by studying for and achieving her certificate in Veterinary Leadership and Management focusing on Human Resources and we would be lost without her.
